Home surveillance security equipment has come a long way over the last few decades. The technology has become much more advanced, allowing for smaller, more capable cameras and recording equipment. It has also made these items much less expensive than they have been in the past.

Small dome cameras have begun to replace the old bulky cameras of past home surveillance/security systems. These cameras offer color pictures, a 360 degree rotation ability, and often include night vision capabilities as well. What’s more, these cameras can often be found for less than a hundred dollars.

Digital recording devices have replaced VHS tape as the primary way to record what your home surveillance/security cameras capture. Aside from their ability to store a great deal more video than tape, they also make it easier to search through and find the pertinent video segment.
